About
Welcome to Isaw Haus, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Cainta, Rizal, Philippines. This culinary haven is not just another restaurant; it's a destination where the art of grilling meets a cozy, outdoor atmosphere. Located along Ortigas Avenue, Isaw Haus invites food enthusiasts to embark on a flavorful journey that celebrates the traditional delights of Filipino street food.
Isaw Haus specializes in grilled meats on sticks—a quintessential part of Filipino culture—and while initial reviews suggest a spectrum of experiences, many diners find themselves captivated by the generous portions and reasonable pricing. As one customer aptly put it, "Food is good and reasonably priced!" This sentiment resonates with many who appreciate value alongside a satisfying meal.
One of the highlights of Isaw Haus is its signature Isaw—grilled chicken or pork intestines that are marinated and cooked to perfection. Many guests have praised the enamoring taste and generous serving sizes, making it a must-try for anyone visiting. Honey Lantin-Ndenje shared, "My daughter just loves how the isaw tastes!" It's this kind of heartwarming feedback that showcases how Isaw Haus transforms a simple meal into a cherished memory.
Another intriguing aspect of the dining experience is the ambience. Despite minor nuisances, such as the presence of flies due to the outdoor seating, many diners find the cozy setup inviting, creating a casual yet vibrant atmosphere perfect for gathering with family or friends. As noted by Rose Anne Mendoza, the environment coupled with the food makes for an enjoyable experience—if only there were a smoking ban to enhance it further.
As you make the journey from nearby Mandaluyong or wherever you might be, consider Isaw Haus as a potential stop for your next meal. While some flavors might not ignite the fireworks expected, the overall experience resonates positively with many who appreciate a good, honest meal.
So, whether it's a craving for skewered delicacies or a cozy place to unwind with loved ones, Isaw Haus on Ortigas Avenue undoubtedly holds promise. With every bite, you’ll discover a bit of Filipino culture—grilled with love and seasoned with tradition. The perfect spot might just be waiting for you!
“ We intentionally drove all the way from Mandaluyong to try this restaurant, braving the weekday afternoon traffic. I can’t say that the dining experience was a disappointment—I mean, we had a decent meal—but nothing amazing really that made the drive and traffic worth it. The grilled meats on sticks were supposed to be their specialty, but we thought it’s nothing speciall, just ok. We weren’t fans of the dipping sauce that came with them. We thought it’s too sweet and lacked sourness. So we “modified” it by adding vinegar and calamansi. The calamares was also just ok. I’d say I’ve had better from those peddled on the streets. Again, not bad at all, but nothing special either. The bone marrow was good. A bit on the salty side, but quite delicious. The Tokwa’t Baboy was better, with the pork perfectly salted and fried. The tokwa (tofu) were cooked well too. What was a standout for us was the chopseuy. Probably one of the best we’ve had in a long time. The quality of service was mediocre. The staff were unattentive and were not making any effort to proactively check if customers needed their assistance. We had to make a considerable effort (vigorously waving our hands and clapping) to get their attention. The loud music and the noise outside didn’t help. Anyway, back to the staff—though they weren’t impolite or rude, they didn’t exude any warmth or friendliness either. Not the type that would inspire/motivate you to leave a generous tip. The service was also slow and serving of food was done haphazardly: our rice wasn’t served until more than 10 minutes after the grilled meats were served. Our other orders (chopseuy, calamares, bone marrow) weren’t served until past the 20-minute mark. They do have a good parking area, good for about seven vehicles, and it’s free. And you can even have your car washed here while you’re dining, as they have carwash service too. Overall, this is a decent restaurant. If you’re nearby, it’s good enough for a hearty meal. But if you’re coming from a far place (ex. QC, Makati, etc), I’m not sure it’s worth the drive/travel. ”
“ Food is good and reasonably priced! Love it! I just hope that they ban smoking. Other than that, everything is great! ”
“ MAY 2025 - barbeque cravings and on the day before election we check this plan. Bilbao options are good.. we got 2 different bilao or seems like a boodle fight hehehe Nakain k n b dito? Any recommendation for our next visit? ”
“ The place was cozy and quiet but the only thing is that there were flies everywhere which is because it was an outdoor seating. But apart from that the food was delish and the Isaw serving was huge and It’s worth the price. As well as the staff were nice and polite. My daughter just love how the isaw tastes! Thank you for the wonderful experience ISAW HAUS in Cainta, Rizal. ”
